Announcing our next show: Ordinary Days

facebook_event AUDITION (1)

We are pleased to announce our next show, ORDINARY DAYS.

“From one of musical theatre’s most exciting new composers comes ORDINARY DAYS, a refreshingly honest and funny musical about making real connections in the city that never sleeps (but probably should at some point.) ORDINARY DAYS tells the story of four young New Yorkers whose lives intersect as they search for fulfillment, happiness, love and cabs. Through a score of vibrant and memorable songs, their experiences ring startlingly true to life. ORDINARY DAYS is an original musical for anyone who’s ever struggled to appreciate the simple things in a complex place. With equal doses of humor and poignancy, it celebrates how 8.3 million individual stories combine in unexpected ways to make New York City such a unique and extraordinary home.”
– Rodgers and Hammerstein show description

Performances will at In Tandem Theatre on March 25-26 and March 30-April 2 at 7:30 P.M., with 4:00 P.M. matinees on March 27 and April 3.

Auditions for Ordinary Days will be held on December 12th and 13th at the Underground Collaborative in Grand Avenue Mall, 161 W. Wisconsin Avenue, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. each day at 10-minute intervals. Actors wishing to audition should email to schedule their time. All auditionees should bring a headshot and resume to their appointment and prepare a musical theater piece in the style of the show of no longer than five minutes. An accompanist will be provided.

Claire is in her 30’s and is embarking on a new stage of her life with boyfriend Jason. The decision to share an apartment is the catalyst for Claire to face her past. Her cathartic “I’ll Be Here” provides the audience the final clue to her arc.

Required vocal range: Soprano

Jason is in his 30’s and is the boyfriend of Claire. A romantic at heart, he spends the bulk of the musical attempting to further his relationship, at first by moving in (“The Spaces Between”) and then by proposing. Claire consistently resists his attempts leading to the central conflict of their story arc (“Fine”).

Required vocal range: Tenor

In her mid twenties, Deb is a cynical and defensive grad student who is struggling to find focus in her life. She meets struggling artist Warren when he finds her thesis notes in the street.

Required vocal range: Mezzo

The cheerful and sometimes annoyingly optimistic Warren sees beauty in the simple things in life, delivering the musical’s message and final number (“Beautiful”).

Required vocal range: Tenor

We’re a Shepherd Express Best of Milwaukee finalist!

We received some really cool news recently — All In Productions has been named a Top 4 finalist in the “Best Theater Company” category of the Shepherd Express’s “Best of Milwaukee” awards! The other three finalists are First Stage, the Milwaukee Repertory Theater and Kohl’s Wild Theater. That’s some pretty outstanding company.

To be nominated for such an award after just our first season alongside such established, respected companies is truly an honor. There were more than 60,000 votes cast in the first round, and there are certain to be even more cast now in the finals. The Shepherd Express is in its 25th year of running this award program, and it is a big deal for the arts community in Milwaukee, as well as local businesses, restaurants and more.

In other exciting news, two AIP board members have also been nominated for Best of Milwaukee awards. Co-founder Robby McGhee is nominated for Best Milwaukee Actor, and Amber Smith is nominated for Best Milwaukee Actress. We are very lucky to have such talented people behind our organization.

Voting is underway now, and we would deeply appreciate it if you took just a few minutes to cast your vote for us. You can do so at the Best of Milwaukee page at the Shepherd Express website. Click here to vote in our category!

New year, new website!

As we march forward into 2015, we at All In Productions are focused on taking the next steps forward as a theater company as well. We recently wrapped up our first ever show, The Last Five Years, and can’t wait to get started on our next one: Little Shop of Horrors.

Part of expanding our presence in the Milwaukee theater community is enhancing our presence online as well. To that end, we’ve put together a brand new website that will be a great hub for information for interested auditionees and audience members alike.

If you have any questions, please feel free to fill out a contact form on our website or reach out to us on Facebook!
